Twenty five years ago, Native Son Villas, which is now called SeaSand Eco Villas were lovingly designed and built by Wes and Sarah Burton. At that time Wes was a native Jamaican who lived and worked in New Jersey as an independent contractor/carpenter when he met Sarah. Wes started by building Native Son Villas in the middle of the property, then soon the development was complete with the construction of the Morningside & Otherside Villas. Keeping in mind the fact that Jamaica lies in the tropical storm belt, Wes needed to be sure that his villas were sturdy and hurricane proof. So he built the villas from concrete. This was a wise decision since all the villas have withstood the onslaught of many powerful storms. In fact, the only thing that was ever lost was a solar panel from the beach front villa.
I, Debra Boyle took over the company a little over 2 years ago in 2007. I had left my organic business in Canada to expand my vision of organic and environmentally friendly living here in Jamaica, and I was positive that this would be the perfect location to start because Jamaica has a lot of natural resources much like Canada.
