On May 23rd, 2009, The Negril Chamber of Commerce will be having their Annual Fund Raising Dinner at the fabulous Grand Lido in Negril. Our keynote speaker is The Honourable Edward Seaga speaking on his fond memories of his discovery of Negril and the future of tourism. A collaboration of Negril's Resort chefs will be preparing a sumptuous Jamaican feast that will focus on local ingredients. The evening gets started with a cocktail hour at sunset on the pool terrace of The Grand Lido. Tickets are 5,000 j with all money raised going towards The Negril Chamber of Commerce for ongoing work in the community.

| The Largest Agricultural Fair In Western Jamaica |

On April 13th, Easter Monday, my Assistant Vanessa and I attended the Montpelier Agricultural Fair in Montpelier, Trawlany.This well attended event had many farmer vendors that came from all over Jamaica, selling cuttings, fruit trees, flowers, livestock, many varieties of yams, and home made products. 3H Clubs were present with their handmade kitchen crafts, sauces, jellies, and baking as well. The Minister of Agriculture, Chris Tufton, was on hand participating in the day’s events as well as all the government agencies affiliated with agriculture, such as: RADA and The Forestry Department. It was a very informative day giving one, a good snapshot of the agriculture taking place in Trawlany these days.
